The Ammonite was built at Grizedale Forest in the Lake District.

This piece of work is made from Larch logs and was constructed during his time as Artist in residence.

Grizedale has a long tradition of sculpture within the landscape and has a the work of many internationally acclaimed artists.

Ammonite is sited on the Silurian     Way in a wooded Oak valley.

Like the slate boulders emerging from ground the Ammonite twists and turns emerging from the topsoil the shape of the piece encourages interaction, within it children can run through the hollow structure while adults can rest and enjoy the view.

The sculpture can be found on the Silurian way. Maps are available from the visitor center and access to Grizedale is free all the year round
